Methodology
Key findings
(1) UNSW publicly reported that when WIL processes were analysed across faculties/schools, there were many manual processes and limits of existing tools (coded spreadsheets, small non-scalable systems). (2) They documented “over 130 different processes” university-wide to manage placements/internships/clinics/project-based WIL. (3) They standardised into four WIL models (student-sourced, self-select, competitive, auto-allocation) and chose one central cloud system to cover the lifecycle (partner agreements, allocation, timesheets, surveys, reporting) and support compliance reporting.
